Yawn-Yet Another "Borat" Lawsuit
Whatever profits have been made by the hit movie "Borat" have likely been used on legal defense funds. Yet another lawsuit has sprouted against the movie's producers, this time by a driving instructor who claims he was misled about the type of film being made. Wait-haven't we heard this one before? And haven't all those "But I was misled." lawsuits been dismissed? Perhaps the driving instructor didn't get the memo. Michael Psenicska, owner of a Perry Hall, Maryland driving school, has filed a lawsuit for more than $100,000 in a U.S. District Court in Manhattan against Twentieth Century Fox and British actor Sacha Baron Cohen because they used images of him in the film's advertisements. The movie, officially titled "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," is a mockumentary about an obnoxious but well-meaning foreign journalist who offends nearly everyone he meets and/or gets real people to agree with his obnoxious, racist, and sexist beliefs.
Before filming, the movie's producers required participants to sign an airtight consent release that has held up in court numerous times already. In fact, during Baron Cohen's award speech at the 2006 Golden Globe awards, the British funnyman thanked everyone who wasn't suing him.

Phil Spector Murder Trial Goes To The Jury
The trial has dragged on for five months (and many wigs) now and it is finally time for the jury to decide. Did music producer Phil Spector murder actress Lana Clarkson in the foyer of his mansion?
Spector is accused of fatally shooting Clarkson through the mouth in February 2003 after she went home with him. The two met at the House of Blues where Clarkson was working as a hostess. The prosecution alleges that Phil Spector has a history of terrorizing people, particularly women, with guns. His chauffeur testified that on the night of the murder, Spector came out of the house, gun in hand, and said, "I think I just killed somebody".
The criminal defense attorneys for Spector claim that Clarkson was depressed and suicidal and killed herself. They have said that the chauffeur had a language barrier and must have misunderstood what Spector said and that there is no scientific evidence supporting the theory that Spector shot Clarkson.
Spector is charged with second-degree murder and if convicted could be sentenced to 15 years in jail.
