The movie, officially titled "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," is a mockumentary about an obnoxious but well-meaning foreign journalist who offends nearly everyone he meets and/or gets real people to agree with his obnoxious, racist, and sexist beliefs.

Before filming, the movie's producers required participants to sign an airtight consent release that has held up in court numerous times already. In fact, during Baron Cohen's award speech at the 2006 Golden Globe awards, the British funnyman thanked everyone who wasn't suing him.
